Most of my works combine repetitive mark and intensive labour together. My idea about aesthetic, repetitive mark making derived from abstracting Chinese character base on the knowledge of five levels of increasing complexity in the Chinese script. Affective labour intensity and long-playing concentration is necessary in my creating process, as a way of self-meditation. Drawing lines as objective motif or subjective personified form, painting lines repetitively to construct aesthetic experience and emotion, building lines intersect together layer by layer as a way of concealing the truth… these are topics my work related so far.

Layer, space, motif, time these are very important elements in my works which reflect to how my contradictory identity facing life experience. My works recently aim to depict personal understanding about contradiction. The first layer normally is closest to reality in my artwork. The motifs are building blocks to each other which look calmly systematic at very first second but they are anxiously changing, moving in some ways. Also, I add actual lines in the space of my installation which is another way of building blocks: obstructing the view.

Creating artwork related to the topics above and trying to reach the idea of aesthetic functionalism are essential of my creation, because they might offer aesthetic satisfaction and synaesthesia for both artist and spectator.
