William Blake at Tate Britan

It is an excellent exhibition with full range of his work display here. I was highly affected by the way how the curating group display this exhibition, especially the colour of the walls for different sections and not only show paper work hanging on the wall but also let them stand on the display-table.  Blakes's drawing was deeply influenced by the religious beliefs and his personal struggle.  The walls in show room were coloured with dark red, dark green, and dark blue. These colours are mostly used in Blakes’ drawing and other art work. In this case, the background walls work very well with artworks on the foreground. And they display Blake’s book designs in a double-face frame and let these frames straightly standing there one by one with a shape of *. This gives me a feeling of page turning. It creates a neutral connection between each pieces. Also, the double-face way of displaying saves more space.

Gerd Leufert’s Wood Strip Window at MOMA

Here is the description behind the artwork: “By discarding the picture plane in favour of a painted, handmade wooden frame, Leufert created a work without front, back, or middle. As the viewer moves past this “window,” strips of neon green, black, white, lilac, and vivid yellow appear and disappear in a game of shifting appearances.”However, the Wood Strip Window attracts me because of its light and shadow shows up on the wall. The shadow include different lights of line shapes and building up together. It gives me some fresh idea about installing artwork and using light.

Nam June Paik at Tate Morden

In this artwork, artist steaks some tape/strips on the wall and offers audiences use an electronic device to touch the strip lines and the sounds comes up differently. I feeling very interesting about the outcome shows up the wall. Because as many as audience to entertain this project there will be colour marks around the strip line. It makes me think about wall painting which is done by all audience’s effort.
