Due to COVID 19 it is very hard to fly back to china because of the flight restriction. So in the future 1-2 year I will probably stay in Toronto. I will continue make art and apply for some gallery open call which I found from akimbo.ca. (https://akimbo.ca) My Open call application will related to the recent topic I am working on: psychology, aesthetic, minimalist, self-therapy, etc. I will mainly focus on looking for nonprofit gallery because I think uncommercial gallery is more inclusive of artworks. I am thinking about to apply a summer term course about art psychology at Seneca College which would be very helpful for my future research.
Recently I got a job interview from an IT company I will work as a Business Development internship which I only need to work 3 days a week. It will not take too much time, I will still have time to make art. I also get my salary to pay for my life essential.
I have some experience to apply for the China national arts fund for group project.(http://www.cnaf.cn) I will keep follow up future funding news and be ready to apply. I love to participate the group funds because they usually offer classes. Members will have chance to attend lecture hold by some very influential artist. I can know many practicing artists from different concentration and we can work together.
Every October, Nuit Blanche Toronto (https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/festivals-events/nuitblanche/)need many artist assistant volunteer to help them build artwork, make things happen. Due to covid Nuit blanche Toronto 2020 is cancelled physical, moving online. I used to participate this event every year 2015-2018. If 2021 Oct I am still in Toronto I will apply the volunteer opportunity to experience the exciting preparation.
As for the future study, a higher degree I have not decide yet. I do not think I am very confident with my research and practice. Because my idea change very quickly. But it does not means I will not consider a further higher education once I think I am ready and well prepared.
In 2020 November, me and some of our classmates will hold a group show at Copeland Gallery, London, UK. We had planning for this long time ago and the exhibition is extended to Nov. Here are the general space organisation of my corner.
